Bugs are gone, so geocaching is in!

Now that all of the bugs have been frozen stiff (especially the skeeters) it is actually fun to go out geocaching again. So last Saturday, we went to a local forest preserve and found three caches, all well of the trails. The weather was pretty cool, with a stiff breeze, but we were in the tree mostly, so it was alright. Came across a fence row of Osage Orange trees, with lots of their strange fruit lying all around.

To celebrate Thanksgiving, we went out and did 9 caches this morning. It was absolutely beautiful this morning for a walk in the forest preserves. The temperature was just above freezing (about 3oC or 38F), the sun was shining, and the winds were calm. Couldn't ask for better conditions on Nov. 27.

The loop we did today was about 2 miles long, and most of the caches were not too far off the trail. A couple of them took us a little bit of the beaten path, though, which was really nice. Here is photo of Rachel and Hannah uncovering a cache!
And here is another of most of us looking at a cache that Rachel found.

We hope to do three more caches some time this weekend so that we can reach our next milestone, 50!

Happy Caching!
